Community Arts Music Association (CAMA) SUPPORTING CAMA's MUSIC EDUCATION PROGRAMS CAMA sponsors four programs in Music Education and Outreach: Music Matters (Docent Program in area schools), Ticket Program for Young Student Musicians, College and University Program, and Adult Education Program. Music Matters: CAMA Brings Music Appreciation to the Schools This program reaches students in over a dozen elementary schools, grades four through six. Consultant musicologist David Malvinni has created a three-year twenty-four-unit systematic curriculum package entitled A Classical Music Journey for Young People. This program combines the study of classical and folk music traditions with performances by musicians demonstrating these traditions at school assemblies. CAMA Docents trained by Dr. Malvinni deliver this program in the classrooms. Sponsorships are available at the following levels: • Sponsor one student: $250 CAMA's Ticket Program for Young Student Musicians brings approximately 30 students per concert to International Series at The Granada performances. CAMA's College and University Program (Youth Audience Development) collaborates with UCSB, Santa Barbara City College and Westmont College to bring approximately 130 students per performance to International Series at The Granada concerts. The colleges offer classes and preparation, each in their own way. UCSB and SBCC offer academic credit for attending and reporting on the concert experience. Donations to this program cover the costs of students' tickets. Sponsorships are available at the following levels: • Sponsor a student's tickets to two concerts: $100 CAMA's Adult Education Program, in cooperation with Santa Barbara City College's Continuing Education Program, offers preview lectures by Dr. David Malvinni and concert attendance through discounted tickets to selected CAMA concerts for up to 40 students.
