CAMA Brings Music Appreciation to Elementary Schools
Since 2003, CAMA has provided music education outreach to local elementary schools. The program, now known as Music Matters, invites students to explore and appreciate music alongside CAMA’s trained volunteer docents.
Docents visit participating schools each month to share lessons in music appreciation. Classroom teachers receive examples of the music studied in each genre to play with students throughout the month, and school assemblies provide opportunities to experience live music.
The curriculum supports three consecutive years of music appreciation for students in grades 3–6.
Volunteer with Music Matters
CAMA welcomes volunteer docents who love classical music and are comfortable sharing their passion and knowledge with elementary and middle school students using CAMA’s course materials.
